Used in Mexico March 8, 2010 NGS (USA) We used it in Mexico and found it very helpful with our limited knowledge of Spanish.
Lasted less than 30 seconds February 11, 2010 Anthony 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Christmas morning this gift was opened and tried out. The light display lasted less than 30 seconds and then went dead. No amount of fiddling with it corrected the situation, so it was sent back to Amazon shortly thereafter. If you order one, be sure to save your receipt. Maybe I'll buy another one to see if it is more reliable. Anthony

I am planning a trip to many European countries and don't have time to learn the languages. This translator allows me to learn basic phrases in a short amount of time.
Fun gadget February 10, 2010 L. Foster (Marin County, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although I haven't actually used this product yet for an upcoming trip to Italy, I have played around with it to try and familiarize myself with how it operates. It's a bit more cumbersome to work than I expected -- scrolling through pre-set sentences until locating the precise phrase needed seems awkward and time-consuming when trying to communicate. But it's fun to play with, and using the "voice" option is a good way to mimic the appropriate accent and pronunciation of an unfamiliar language. I definitely think spending adequate time practicing with it before a trip, as well as familiarizing oneself with all the available phrases and exactly where to access them, would greatly enhance its usefulness.
Nice Gadget for the Money February 10, 2010 Traveler 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After reviewing similar products I decided on this one. Great price for having capability of translating 12 languages. You can always be sure of pronouncing correctly; for privacy you can even use an earphone. You are also able to enter phone numbers and your information is password safe. Love the international clock feature as well. The backlit screen, allows you to see easily in any light. I am considering purchasing another as a gift for a friend. Lots of features packed in this small gadget.
