I have an older version of Webster Dictinary program (32 bit) that was simpliar to install and ease in usage....This version is limited (64 bit) in that it doesnt help in possible spelling ...it has a postive in that it gives an overwhelming amount of inforamtion of the morphology of the word.......Over allit serves its purpose.

I have been using MW Dictionary and Thesaurus v.3.0 with XP. It had a great Macro system that was quick and easy to use. I upgraded to Windows 7 and I had hoped that this program would work in a similar way. It does not. You have to open the program and type in the word. Longer and more difficult. I am not pleased with this product.

Here are some considerations before buying this software:
* "11th edition" refers to the dictionary, not the software.
* There are several editions of the software being sold. Some are earlier versions.
* All of the editions look very similar, with similar packaging.
* Fogware has terrible customer support. The do not return emails.
* There seems to be no money back guarantee.
* Many stores, once you've opened the software, will not let you return it.
It might be obvious that I did not get the version of this software that is advertised on this webpage. I saw this webpage, but went to a local electronic store that sold me an earlier version. The earlier version doesn't have all the hot keys. So I'm giving up on Merriam-Webster and returning to the freeware dictionary I was using.
very hard to install, and re-register November 10, 2009

I installed this dictionary on two computers I own. I needed to reformat the hard drive (three times) on one of the computers. Now I cannot seem to register the product because I the 'product key' has already been registered. I do not seem to be able to find any way to contact customer service (if any) to resolve the problem. When I was able to install the Merriam-Webster program, it was hard to install.
I have used many computers over the years, and I have successfully installed MANY programs. When Merriam Websters Collgaite Dictionary & Thesaurus 11th Edition does install, you are forced to install other products on a trial basis.
I JUST WANT THE PRODUCT THAT I PAID FOR!!!!!!!!!!
Don't buy it; it's not worth the hassle.

The marketing material says this CD "...installs quickly on your hard drive for easy access from most popular applications, including Pages and Microsoft Word." The installation is cumbersome and requires a challenging on-line registration process. It only works from Microsoft Word if the program is open in the background and you use a hotkey to bring it forward. The integration is awful. If you are looking for a dictionary that improves on the simple program associated with Word, this isn't it. The product description does not match the product, and Merriam-Webster Customer Service cares not a lick. I would avoid digital products from this company until they demonstrate an ability to understand and service their users actual needs by better integrating their programs.
